When the air/gas contains combustible or explosive dust particles, such dust particles can be controlled by using spray tower exhaust gas treatment equipment. Generally used as a scrubbing medium for spray tower exhaust gas treatment equipment. The spray tower equipment consists of multiple nozzles that atomize the scrubbing medium into fine droplets. Dust particles penetrate into these droplets and are removed from the spray tower exhaust gas treatment equipment air/air flow. Compared with other dust removal equipment, spray tower equipment is compact. Certain water mist media can assist in the removal of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter.

Most spray tower exhaust gas treatment equipment is used in combination with horizontally arranged centrifugal separators and has the following functions:

Through the special power nozzles of the spray tower exhaust gas treatment equipment, the scrubber medium is injected and distributed on the top of the spray tower to generate a large gas/liquid exchange area and descend with a relatively high airflow velocity. Due to the high energy input, the spray tower is able to take in and transport gases and vapours on its own. This ejector effect cleans the gas without losing gas flow pressure. Thus, mechanical fans for conveying the gas are generally not required. Given the improved design, including quenching, gases up to 1,300°C can be cooled and scrubbed in one process. Together, the quench effect ensures cooling of the gas or vapour. Thereby, the airflow is cooled to the corresponding cooling limit temperature by evaporating water into the airflow. The steam can be cooled and condensed by heat conduction.

Contaminants are absorbed into the fluid as they pass through the scrubber tubes of the spray tower exhaust gas treatment equipment. In the case of chemical absorption, harmful substances are chemically bound. The separation degree of the scrubber stage of each spray tower exhaust gas treatment equipment can reach 98%. By using the effect of inertial separation, solid particles or droplets are separated by colliding with fast flying droplets of scrubber fluid. In this way, particles with a diameter of ≥ 5 m can be completely separated. Gas and liquid are separated in a centrifugal separator arranged downstream of the end of the scrubber tube.
