Why Sandblasting

Sand blasting is to use compressed air as the power to form a high-speed jet beam to spray the blasting material (copper ore sand, quartz sand, emery, iron sand, sea sand) to the surface of the workpiece to be treated at a high speed , to change the appearance or shape of the workpiece surface. Due to the impact and cutting effect of the abrasive on the surface of the workpiece, the surface of the workpiece can obtain a certain degree of cleanliness and different roughness, so that the mechanical properties of the workpiece surface are improved, so the fatigue resistance of the workpiece is improved, and it and the coating are increased. The adhesion between them prolongs the durability of the coating film, and is also conducive to the leveling and decoration of the coating.

Features:1. Sand blasting is a thorough, general, rapid and efficient cleaning method.

Second, sandblasting can be arbitrarily selected between different roughnesses, and other processes cannot achieve this. Manual grinding can produce a rough surface but the speed is too slow, and chemical solvent cleaning will clean the surface too smooth, which is not conducive to coating adhesion. Classification

Sandblasting and shot peening are collectively referred to as sandblasting. According to the different sandblasting methods, there are relatively four classification methods as follows:

One, Press-in blasting and Suction blasting

Two, dry blasting and liquid blasting

three,open blasting and box blasting

Fourth, manual sandblasting and Auto blasting

The above classifications are only relative terms, such as open blasting and box blasting, both of which may also be press-in or suction type , dry or liquid, manual or automatic, and the like, with one exception: press-in blasting will not be liquid blasting, and vice versa.

Application

(1)Coating of workpiece, sand blasting before workpiece bonding can remove all dirt such as rust on the surface of workpiece, and establish a very important surface on the surface of workpiece. The basic pattern(that is, the so-called rough surface), and by changing the abrasives of different particle sizes, the roughness of different degrees can be achieved, which greatly improves the bonding force between the workpiece and the paint and plating. Or make the bonding parts more firm and better in quality.

(2)Cleaning and polishing of rough surface of castings and forgings and workpieces after heat treatment Surface polishing can improve the smoothness of the workpiece, make the workpiece reveal a uniform and consistent metal color, make the appearance of the workpiece more beautiful, and achieve the effect of beautification and decoration.

(3)Machining parts burr cleaning and surface beautification Sandblasting can clean the tiny burrs on the surface of the workpiece, make the surface of the workpiece smoother, eliminate the harm of burrs, and improve the grade of the workpiece. And sandblasting can make small rounded corners at the junction of the workpiece surface, making the workpiece more beautiful and more precise.

(4)Improve the mechanical properties of the parts. After sandblasting, the mechanical parts can produce uniform and fine concave and convex surfaces (basic pattern) on the surface of the parts, so that the lubricating oil can be stored, so that the lubrication conditions can be improved, and the Reduce noise and increase mechanical life.

(5)Lighting effect For some special-purpose workpieces, sandblasting can achieve different reflection or matt light at will. Such as stainless steel workpiece, wooden furniture surface matt, frosted glass surface pattern, and cloth surface textured processing.

Notes:

1.Wear protective equipment before work, and do not work with bare arms. There should be no less than two people at work.

2.The gas storage tank, pressure gauge and safety valve should be checked regularly. The air tank discharges dust every two weeks, and the filter in the sand tank is checked monthly.

3.Check whether the ventilation pipe and sandblasting machine door are sealed. Five minutes before work, the ventilation and dust removal equipment must be activated. When the ventilation and dust removal equipment fails, the sandblasting machine is prohibited from working.

4.The compressed air valve should be opened slowly, and the air pressure should not exceed 0.8MPa.

5.The sandblasting particle size should be adapted to the work requirements, generally applicable between No. 10 and No. 20, and the sand should be kept dry.

6.When the sandblasting machine is working, it is forbidden for irrelevant personnel to approach. When cleaning and adjusting the running parts, it should be stopped.

7.It is not allowed to blow dust or joke with compressed air.

8.After the work is completed, the ventilation and dust removal equipment should continue to operate for five minutes and then shut down to discharge indoor dust and keep the site clean.
